With a background in music, percussion, and vocals, it was natural for Amy to pursue certification as a sound medicine practitioner to find more meaningful ways to use those gifts. Her training includes the use of crystal singing bowls, crystal pyramids, tuning forks and a variety of chimes and hand-held percussion instruments. Each of Amy's individualized treatments incorporate a custom combinoation of these methods. As a musician with a background in keyboard, vocals and percussion, I found myself drawn to sound medicine and it's potential to facilitate healing. After spending over three decades as a liturgical musician, I saw firsthand how deeply music can move people. Sound medicine takes this to a whole new level by merging the energy of sound and spirit into one powerful modality. Sound medicine is a unique experience where the instruments create ripples of energy, similar to what happens when a stone is dropped into a pond. As sound waves reach the body, they create patters and overlapping mandalas of energy that remind the body what wellness feels like. Each of our chakras and etheric bodies resonate with specific tones, notes and frequencies; sound medicine can help trigger the memories of homeostasis within our DNA. Music. Helps. Us. Heal! There is a reason why you feel so good when you play your favorite music. My training has allowed me to customize treatments using a variety of tools, including crystal pyramids and bowls, solfeggio tones, chimes and vocalizations similar to Gregorian Chant. If you're new to energy work, I highly recommend trying sound medicine as a starting point. During the 45 minute session, we'll discuss your wellness objectives before moving on to the treatment itself, which lasts 20-35 minutes. You're welcome to record the session on your own device and carry the experience with you beyond my treatment space. Sound medicine has the potential to release stuck emotions, rewire brainwaves, offer new perspectives to long standing issues.
